Jordan remains home to one of the largest concentration of Assyrian Christian Refugees.
For many years now, ACERO’s Jordan Chapter have served this community with food packages and financial aid.
These distributions are ongoing and we share photos from the most recent one at the Mart Shmoni Parish in Amman. Serving 235 families, it is administered by the church committee and visiting priests from other Diocese of the Assyrian Church of the East.
The regular visiting priest is Rev Fr. Esha Dawood who has got to know this community over many years. Travelling from Erbil, Iraq, he has always made time to conduct liturgical and other services.
Rev Fr. Esha has also worked alongside the team on the ground to help with distributions and all of ACERO’s work for refugees there.
Our thanks as always go to Mr Lorance Kanjou and all the ACERO volunteers who work with meticulous organisation and efficiency to ensure all registered members are served. We also extend our gratitude to His Grace Mar Abrs Youkhanan for his continued support for our work in Jordan.
